I like working with intelligent, creative people who have most pieces of their lives in place, but are exploring the next phase of their lives - retirement, empty nest, or a shifting focus within their current work or personal situations. Rather than being driven by other people’s expectations, they want their outward life to reflect their inner values –“to live from the inside out” - so they spend their time and energy on things that are personally fascinating to them, and that lead to greater good in the world.

Using powerful questions and creative exercises, an ability to listen, and a commitment to understand, I enable my clients to unearth the interests and dreams that may have been dormant. I help them develop strategies to make changes in their lives, and offer supportive encouragement and accountability so they achieve their goals.

I have been in private practice since 1995. I have a down-to-earth therapeutic approach that combines cognitive behavioral therapy with a family systems orientation. I frequently use journal-writing and creative self-investigation assignments to help clients get “unstuck” and to tap into their own wisdom about themselves.

I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and am a Certified Mindful Coach. In my coaching and counseling practice I draw on my experiences as a hospital social worker, founding director of a women and family center, international volunteer, cancer survivor, wife, mother, and grandmother to help people transform their perspectives and achieve their life goals.
